Walmart Truck Drivers Wanted for $110,000 a Year

Walmart truck drivers can start to earn up to $110,000 a year.

Recently, an announcement that Walmart truck drivers were needed became a hot topic, and with good reason.

Walmart is a company with a proven track record of success. Throughout its history, the company has been committed to giving everyone an equal opportunity to succeed.

That’s not to say that some average salaries and wages for certain positions can’t use some improvement. For example, sales associates are known to be relatively underpaid for the type of work they perform.

In recent years, Walmart has given associates across the company opportunities to learn more, see more, and do more.

These days, they’re taking that same commitment to the foundation of their supply – the Walmart Private Fleet. If you ask drivers in this fleet, they will probably tell you something similar: Walmart is an amazing company to drive a truck for, and the benefits are great.

Is driving a truck for Walmart a good job?

Their drivers are deeply dedicated to safety as well as professionalism, and they’re happy to announce pay raises to ensure Walmart remains one of the best companies in the world in which to drive.

These latest investments in a driver’s career mean you can earn up to $110,000 in the first year. If you are already employed by Walmart in another position, you may be able to earn top dollar as you transition into driving a truck for them.

So, one of the best ways to get behind the wheel with a truck driver job is to apply for their Fleet Development Program. They are constantly adding new vehicles, improving their technology, and finding ways to connect drivers with opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have.

Walmart Truck Driver Training

Walmart’s Live Better U program (LBU) includes tuition and other school fees, while the Academies are located nationwide to give qualified associates the opportunity to get an education and improve their career.

They are now happy to announce the launch of their Walmart Private Fleet Development Program! Recently, during this 12-week program, supply-chain associates in two Delaware and Texas area locations earned their commercial driver’s license (CDL) and are now eligible to drive one of Walmart’s fleet of trucks.

Walmart began removing any knowledge gaps with the LBU and Academies—they trained all levels of staff, from managers to the newest guys on the team, providing them with everything from in-depth training for a particular task to a complete college degree.

Walmart’s learning ecosystem was designed to help people get the skills they need to get a job driving for a variety of companies.

Teachers have stepped up and taken over these tasks.

Walmart has always been proud of having its own private fleet of drivers, which are some of the best at what they do.

Now, certified driver trainers have recently turned their attention to training a new generation in the values of safety, courtesy, and pride.

They completed a specialized training course in the Walmart Academies. These teachers have been working with trainees to teach them written material and overseeing the driving.

LBU makes sure trainees have the skills needed to become truck drivers. They not only provide graduates with knowledge of big rigs, but also with the experience needed to succeed in this competitive industry! This includes having mentors who can help them out once they’ve begun their new careers.

Instead of wearing a graduation cap, they get something more original: a Walmart trucker cap!

Walmart Drivers Needed

Signing up to drive with Walmart means getting the support you need to excel. Recent pay and training improvements paired with better schedules—which allow drivers more time at home—make this a great time to join the team.

Driving for Walmart gives many people a chance to earn an excellent salary year-round, and it definitely is a career you can take all the way to retirement.
